Course Description:

This 8-hour tested course is designed to help new and senior investigators alike keep an open mind when developing hypotheses at fire scenes. It will also address different investigative concerns for each type of incident. The curriculum is based on dozens of case studies where fires were caused by strange and unusual events or failures. The case studies are from a variety of incidents and investigators throughout the United States, and many are accompanied by artifacts from those fires. Topics include:

Timelines and Failure Analysis, Open Neutrals, Accidentally Energized Equipment and Structures, Empty or Unused Outlets, Animal Factorization, Mechanical Failures, Solar Radiation, Lightning, Other Natural Occurrences
